Life-Size Board Games and Park

Submitted by Alex Strachan, Lansing Resident

My idea is to…

“…[have] oversized games/common area/park. For example there could be an area dedicated to a life size chess/checkers board with tables and benches for people to read, play games or eat outside, and space for people to play other games like horse shoes or bags.”

My idea contributes to a vibrant community by…

“Having a space like this would help create a small outdoor space downtown that also encourages social activity. There is a similar space in Seattle where people would hang out and play chess, have conversations or read and the coffee shop and restaurants near by benefited from increased foot traffic in the area. The area could also help create a more engaged/connected community.”
